He watches the way her face changes while her attention isn't on him, and he feels irrationally guilty for even bringing it up.

"A whole lot that basically boiled down to all of the nasty things that he'll do to me if I ever hurt you. Which I don't intend to do by the way," he says. "Because we're friends, right? I thought we were okay."
